A variety of 28 walks in its open green spaces, along its river valleys and canal towpaths. Including the moorlands of its West and South Pennine and Peak District fringes. All of the walks are reachable by public transport. Greater Manchester has an excellent network of train, tram and bus services. Details of the stations and stops needed are given in each walk information panel. Pubs and cafés are highlighted along the routes.
There is a walking route for everyone. Ten shorter and easier routes in the first ‘green’ chapter. A further ten more half-day ‘blue’ walks. Then finishing with eight longer outings in the ‘orange’ chapter.
