I have a new book out - Classic Day Walks, which is a collection of what I think are the best walks in England and Wales, hope you enjoy them.

Of course my favourite walk of all is the Sheffield Round Walk of which I wrote the guidebook, now regarded as one of the world's best urban walks/runs.

Hi! I am the founder of Vertebrate Publishing, authoring its original MTB guidebook Dark Peak Mountain Biking in 2004 and have gone on to author numerous other guidebooks, including The Sheffield Round Walk, White Peak Mountain Biking, Peak District Trail Running and Peak District Bouldering. When not running Vertebrate Publishing from our Sheffield offices, I can be found mountain biking, walking, running or most likely rock climbing out in the Peak District. I am also very keen on exploring the urban environment of Sheffield, it's waterways, snickets, alleyways and network of footpaths. In my time exploring I've seen otters, salmon and peregrines return to the city. Which gives us all hope for our future.

My great passion is mountaineering literature, with The Bond, In Some Lost Place and One Day as a Tiger being three of my favourite books.

I'm currently going through a mid-life running crises.
