La terre de Crète est chargée d'histoire pour le plus grand plaisir de ses habitants. Le patrimoine naturel de leur île est un autre motif de fierté locale.
Le Sud est encore sauvage, la mer n'y est accessible que par des détours abrupts et chaotiques. Le Nord s'est considérablement développé mais a su conserver tout son charme : les chaînes de montagne surplombent la mer, recouvertes de thym et de lauriers roses, les champs d'orangers, de citronniers et d'oliviers s'étendent à perte de vue. Cette diversité des paysages permet de pratiquer une grande variété d'activités sportives. Une nature si belle qu'on la dirait bénie des dieux.
